Retail & FashionSkechers × Dean Rock & Nina Carberry — Flagship Store Launch
Skechers Ireland turned its Dundrum flagship launch into a fan-focused event with two nationally recognised Irish sporting personalities.

Overview
The campaign
Shuz Group partnered with Sport Endorse to bring nationally recognised Irish athletes Dean Rock and Nina Carberry to the launch of Skechers Ireland's flagship store in Dundrum Town Centre. The in-store activation gave fans the opportunity to meet and speak with two sporting icons while helping the retailer create excitement around the new concept store.
The challenge
A flagship store opening needs more than a ribbon-cutting moment. Shuz Group wanted the launch of its new Skechers concept store in Dundrum Town Centre to attract attention, generate genuine public interest and give shoppers a reason to engage with the brand in person. The event needed recognisable talent with broad Irish appeal, rather than a generic celebrity appearance disconnected from sport, footwear or the local audience.
The second challenge was finding two personalities who could appeal across generations and sporting communities. The store serves men, women and children and presents both lifestyle and performance footwear, so the talent combination needed to feel inclusive. The activation also had to create a welcoming experience where fans could meet the athletes directly, not simply watch a staged appearance from a distance.
The Sport Endorse solution
Sport Endorse brought together Dean Rock and Nina Carberry for the flagship-store launch. The original Sport Endorse success story describes a public meet-and-greet format in which fans of all ages could meet, talk with and create memories with the two athletes. This transformed the opening from a standard retail event into a community-facing sports activation built around personal interaction.
The venue reinforced the sense of occasion. Sport Endorse's published account identifies the location as the Skechers flagship store in Dundrum Town Centre, Dublin, and highlights the concept store's LED panelling at the shopfront and large LED display above the till. The modern retail environment supplied a strong visual setting, while the athletes gave the launch a distinctly Irish and human focal point.
Internal HubSpot records support the public case study. Separate Deals titled "Dean Rock Skechers Shop" and "Nina Carberry Skechers Shop opening" were created on 6 December 2023 and later recorded as Opportunity Completed with close dates of 28 December 2023. A note attached to the Dean Rock record confirms that both athletes were intended to appear in the same case study. The records do not contain verified attendance, footfall, social reach or sales metrics, so none have been estimated.
Athlete fit
Dean Rock offered immediate relevance to a Dublin audience. Sport Endorse describes the former Dublin Gaelic footballer as an eight-time All-Ireland Championship winner, giving the event an athlete with exceptional local recognition and a career closely associated with the city. His presence connected the launch with one of Ireland's most widely followed sports and gave families and younger supporters access to a familiar sporting figure.
Nina Carberry broadened the activation beyond Gaelic games. The champion jockey also brought mainstream entertainment recognition through winning Ireland's Dancing with the Stars and appearing as a coach on Ireland's Fittest Family. Together, Rock and Carberry created a cross-sport pairing with complementary audiences: team sport and racing, Dublin identity and national visibility, elite performance and family entertainment. That mix made the endorsement feel locally grounded rather than artificially assembled.
Deliverables
- The available public and internal records confirm the following activation structure and deliverables:
- Dean Rock and Nina Carberry selected as the two nationally recognised sporting personalities for the Skechers flagship-store launch.
- Live in-store appearances delivered at Skechers in Dundrum Town Centre, Dublin.
- Fan-facing meet, greet and conversation opportunities created for visitors of different ages.
- Athlete participation integrated into the public launch of the LED-equipped Skechers concept store.
- Two separate talent engagements recorded and completed in HubSpot during December 2023.
- Combined campaign narrative published by Sport Endorse as a retail and event success story.
Results
The strongest verified results are structural rather than media-based: two nationally recognised athletes, two completed HubSpot talent Deals and one flagship-store launch activation. The public success story confirms direct fan interaction through meet-and-greet activity, but neither HubSpot nor the sources reviewed provide reliable attendance, store-footfall uplift, social impressions, earned-media value or sales data. Those figures have therefore been left unreported rather than replaced with unsupported estimates.
